mix 'em & match 'em: abstract

For this post I wanted to focus on a tricky print style: abstract prints.  Due to the nature and aesthetics of abstract prints, many people shy away from pairing them with other prints.

However, with an open mind and the right combinations, you can out a new spin on this wild print!  Opposites attract.. am I right?

All these prints were created in Adobe Illustrator by me, Sarah Katherine Ormsby.

For this Print Guide I suggest staying within the same color platte.  By doing this a common ground is created so that you can pair an Abstract(crazy/loopy/random) with a Geometric(precise/uniform).

1. Add in a fun animal graphic to the mix.  Sweaters with animal faces have been all the rage this year and with lingering questions such as, "What does the Fox say?" I think this trend may be around for a little while.  In this case the Abstract and fun Animal graphic create a unique nostalgic look.

2.  Our second combination can create a chic mix for the print-confident wearer.  Common color palette is a must in this situation but when done correctly, and in moderation you will have a unique look that screams, Arts-y.
